Laila Scharf - USA
Laila Scharf graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park Florida in May, 2000 with a BA in music performance and education and a minor in studio art. She performed in many different ensembles, including percussion, jazz, choir, and also competed in concerto competitions and other piano performances.
She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in music composition at California State University Fullerton, where she plans to enter the film score writing industry, as well as continuing to teach. Laila grew up with music and art, playing the piano, painting, and always staying busy being creative. Her twin sister, Lauren, and younger brother, Ian, are also musicians and artists. Music has been one of the most important things in her life, as a creative outlet for expression. She has been teaching piano for over 15 years. "Being able to share my love and passion for music with others, especially children, is truly a gift, that I am eternally grateful for."
